For over fourteen years, Venus Kitagawa-Stojsic has been an enthusiastic professional and energetic leader in Southern California. She is extensively trained in the creation and performance of ceremony, and she is an ordained non-denominational minister authorized to solemnize weddings in the State of California. In late 2011, Venus was featured as an officiant on WeTV's television program I Do Over with Diann Valentine.
Venus is a Life-Cycle Celebrant® certified by the Celebrant North America Institute and Foundation, specializing in the fundamentals and history of ritual. While pursuing studies at the Celebrant Institute, she completed her Fundamentals of Celebrancy coursework and focused her major emphasis on Couples & Weddings. Beginning Winter 2010, Venus joined the faculty as a teacher and instructor of the Couples & Weddings course. She is currently serving as leader and facilitator of Celebrant North America's Mid-California Regional Chapter. She also leads groups, speaks in public, and makes presentations year round.
Venus’ background is in counseling and music therapy. She has worked in private practice and for facilities with many clients, including adults and teens with mental illness, children with disabilities, and older adults with dementia. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from Chapman University and became board-certified as a music therapist in 1997. She also received Associate of Arts degrees in Radio & TV Broadcasting and Production. Venus has worked in the music industry for most of her adult life. After 11 years in retail at Tower Records as supervisour and as classical and dance music buyer, she has worked full-time as an audio producer and programmer at Spafax Airline Network since 2005.
Venus is a lifelong resident of Southern California. She is a devoted wife of eighteen years to her husband Alex. The couple share a home in Orange County, California with their cats (children, really) Patrick Grayze and Pilates, as Dorian GrEy continues to hang out. RIP Wilford Brimley (2011), RIP Smaug the Desolate (2009), and RIP Cyrano de Sniffy (2007).
